It’s 2020, and many of you will probably want to start the New Year with beautiful and glowing skin. Some people seem to be born with endlessly covetable luminosity, but for the rest of us, we will need to spend some time and effort to get our skin glowing. Here are some tips to help you to get beautiful and glowing skin.
1. Start a skin care routine
Make sure that your skin is clean and moisturized by starting a skincare routine. You should find a skincare routine that’s you enjoy doing and suitable for your time and budget. If you enjoy spending time pampering your skin or shopping for skincare products, you should look at ten steps Korean skincare routine. The ten steps skincare routine has become very popular in the past few years and can achieve a great result, but the downside of this routine that it can be very expensive and time-consuming. However, if you’re on the budget or short on time, I suggest you look at minimalist skincare routine, this routine should take you only a few minutes a day and cost as little as a couple of bucks a day.
2. Protect your skin from the sun
Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen so that you’re protected from both UVA and UVB and make sure that it’s at least SPF 15. You can read more about choosing the right sunscreen here. Don’t skip on your sunscreen even though it’s a cloudy day, as the damaging UV rays still reach your skin. Reapply sunscreen every few hours If you’re staying out in the sun for an extended period.
3. Eat your greens
Skin care is not only established from outside in, skin care can also be achieved from the inside out. What that means is that what you eat will also affect your skin, so by improving your diet, your skin will also improve.
One way of improving your diet is by eating more fruits vegetables; whole food plant-based diet is something that’s been discussed about a lot lately. If you can follow something like the whole food plant-based diet, you will definitely see your skin improve. By following this lifestyle of eating, you will be consuming food that is full of antioxidants, and its anti-inflammatory property will help clear up your skin and get your skin glowing.
When I mentioned the whole food plant-based diet, people are often confused with vegan, but this is something different. In whole food plant-based diet, you are limiting the amount of processed and animal-based food that you consume and focus on eating more foods as grown – whole, plant-based food such as whole grains, beans, and legumes, nuts, seeds, fruits, vegetables, as well as herbs and spices.
4. Exercise regularly
Exercise will increase the blood flow throughout the body, nourishing the skin with oxygen and nutrient. Regular exercise will also help tone the muscles and improve the elasticity of the skin to maintain the skin firmness and make you look better overall. However, don’t forget to protect your skin from the UV ray if you exercise outside in the sun.
5. Drink water
You should drink at least eight glasses of water a day to keep your skin hydrated. Sometimes you can be too busy throughout the day and forget to drink water. Try to skip all the sugary drinks and stick to water.
6. Beauty sleep
Try to get about 8 hours of sleep a day so your skin can recuperate. Your skin can get tired just like you, and often when you don’t get enough sleep, you will wake up with bags under your eyes. Make sure you get enough sleep so your skin can get rested as well.
